Ramsgate Case Study
Background
South Eastern Trains and Taylor Technology Limited have just worked closely in designing and delivering the CCTV system for the security requirements at Ramsgate Engineering Depot. The installation commenced in mid July 2005 and was successfully completed in early August 2005. Work started with the lifting shed side of the depot followed by the maintenance shed side.
System Overview
The security system installed comprises of 10 cameras, 5 being fully functional fast action speed domes with preset alarm detection patterns, 5 being static type with motion activity detection. All entrance gates to the depot are covered with CCTV to control the entry on to the site for staff, contractors and visitors. Entrances to the lifting and maintenance sheds are also monitored for security and safety purposes. There are a series of wireless video/telemetry links across the site which allowed Taylor Technology to cause less disruption the daily running of the depot with civil engineering works. All cameras and wireless video/telemetry links which have been installed on columns or wall poles are fitted with anti-climb prevention spikes.
Control of the system is operated with Vision Systems Adpro Fast Trace digital recorder unit, with Adpro gold as the software operating platform.
CCTV signage around the site helps to deter and warn staff, contractors, visitors and intruders that CCTV operates on the site for the purposes of safety and security reasons.
